Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

So many spaghetti sauces these days have added sugars. There are some that don’t, but few and far between.

 

Plus, not much tastes quite as good as homemade spaghetti sauce. This one is super easy too, just one blender and a saucepan, tomatoes, fresh herbs, vegetables and spices. The perfect combination.

 

I love to serve this over spiralized zucchini, roasted spaghetti squash, meatloaf, and coconut flour crust pizza.

Ingredients
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 4 cups fresh cherry tomatoes or 2 28 oz. cans whole Roma tomatoes in tomato juice, no additives
  • 3 large carrots chopped
  • 2 tbsp. pasture-raised ghee pasture-raised butter or extra-virgin coconut oil
  • 1 small yellow onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp. fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp. fresh oregano
  • 1 tbsp. fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp. pink Himalayan salt or sea salt
  • 1 tsp. fresh ground black pepper

Instructions
  1. Throw all of the ingredients, except ghee, pasture-raised butter or extra-virgin coconut oil, in a high speed blender. Blend until completely pureed, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Melt ghee, butter or coconut oil in a large stainless steel pan over low heat.
  3. Pour the puree into the stainless steel pan, cover with a lid, and let heat on low for 25-30 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Enjoy over roasted spaghetti squash, spiralized zucchini noodles or meatloaf. Enjoy!
