Healthy Gummy Bears

So I was just doing some research for one of the moms I'm coaching..

And I found that the FDA has an entire page dedicated to their "maximum recommended amount of lead in candy likely to be consumed frequently by small children". (Link below)

And it just made me so sad.

#1- There is no acceptable amount of lead in candy, come on now.

And #2- No candy should be consumed frequently by small children!!

And #3- if you are going to give a small child candy, please make it yourself so you can avoid the genetically modified organisms, carcinogenic pesticides, added sugars, dextrose, starch, waxes, and potentially harmful artificial colors and synthetic vitamins they pack in there.

For a healthy candy alternative, I made this recipe just for you!

And for red gummy bears, replace oranges with strawberries.

For yellow, pineapple.

Green, spinach.

Blue, blueberries... You get the idea 🙂

Have fun and enjoy!!

Keep it real,

Does this work with or without flavored extract?

  • Rebecca says:

Just an FYI, when making these you always want to stir slowly and never use a whisk or beaters or anything that will incorporate air into your gummies. Slow and steady gets the job done here, patience is key.

  • Jess says:

Do these come out with real gummy bear texture or more like jello?
